     💼 59,000 engineering roles are going unfilled every year and there's a predicted shortfall of 1 million engineers by 2030, putting 184 major engineering projects at risk.  

     ❌ But 30% of Gen Z won’t consider engineering careers due to perceptions around the sector being too male dominated and reliant on maths skills.

We know that work experience can be an invaluable tool for young people to connect with a sector and organisation - helping to dispel myths about the sector and understand the different career pathways available to them - and supports a strong job allplication:

• Almost 1 in 2 young people say that a lack of work experience is a barrier to getting a job.
• Yet only 36% of secondary school students have access to work experience.
