Primary School Volunteering: Social Mobility Day 2026

Each year, Connectr Early Engagement partners with a local school to support Social Mobility Day. Thanks to the many organisations who have joined us previously, it’s become a real highlight in our calendar!
This year we’re excited to return to Parkwood Primary School in Hackney.
Why Primary?: Research shows children begin forming ideas about future jobs as early as age 5-6, and by age 9 many have already ruled out options based on stereotypes or limited exposure. Early intervention is key for raising the aspirations and confidence of young people.
How it works: We’ll be spending the morning with Years 4, 5 and 6, giving students a chance to meet a range of professionals and imagine what their futures could look like.
The volunteer role: A short introduction to what you do, followed by some small‑group speed‑networking with the students. No preparation needed - the session is fully facilitated by Connectr colleagues, with a short briefing on the day. We may just ask you for any images you have that illustrate your career journey!
Get in touch to join us on 11th June!
