We kicked off Discover Tech on Tuesday with a packed launch event designed to celebrate the employers that have already come on board and to share how much we’ve achieved since the first roundtable in July.

The room was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as attendees came ready to share ideas, learn from each other, and act like a collective.

Kathryn Baddeley, Head of CSR at Cisco, set the tone for the session when she said, “I see Discover Tech as a movement” and with 8 partners signed up in just under two months, the programme has got off to a flying start!

The session was fast-paced allowing us to cover everything from venues, to dates, to content and even a brainstorming session on how we’ll dress the space! Headlines included:

Partnership announcements:

We welcomed Accenture, Adobe, IBM and WWT as Founding Partners alongside Cisco. And introduced London South Bank University, Manchester UA92, and the University of West London as our three Day 1 venue partners.

Learning Content deep dive:

We shared the overall programme design and timetable with partners, giving organisations the opportunity to feedback and shape the final design. The programme will includea mix of plenary sessions, interactive panels, business case studies, and breakouts, on subject areas such as AI, cyber security and cloud computing - designed to reflect the realities and opportunities of working in tech today.

Employers left brimming with new ideas, having made new connections and with a clear sense of shared purpose.
