In late 2022 Aon sought Connectr’s input to reshape and expand their work experience programme in a new large-scale 'Work Insight Programme' that focussed on social mobility. WIP is now run three times each year, across eight different Aon locations across the UK. Scale was vital to the success of the programme: Aon wanted to support as many young people as possible – and they wanted to have a short-term impact on Aon’s apprenticeship and graduate pipelines, to get diverse talent into roles.

Student & volunteer impact In Year 2, 840 students participated in work experience, 700 Aon colleagues were engaged and 68% of students were eligible for Free School Meals and/or we in the bottom 30% on the Indices of Multiple Deprivation.

Hiring impact In Year 1, just under a quarter of Aon’s apprenticeship hires came had attended WIP – watch this space for Year 2 conversions...
